The fine print

Terms & Conditions

The terms for buying from our atelier — written to be clear and fair.

About us

Who you are buying from

This website and online shop are operated by Amir Rom – Art in Clay.

By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms. Please read them together with our Shipping & Returns and Privacy Policy.

Our pieces

Handmade, so each one is unique

Every piece is shaped, glazed and fired by hand in our atelier in Israel. Small variations in colour, glaze, texture and size are part of the nature of handmade ceramics, and are not a defect. We photograph our pieces as faithfully as we can, but colours may look slightly different on different screens.

Prices

Prices and payment

  • Prices on our English site are shown in US dollars. Prices on our Hebrew site are shown in Israeli shekels and include VAT. If an order placed on our English site is shipped to an address in Israel, Israeli VAT is added at checkout.
  • Shipping within Israel is free. International shipping is free on orders over $300; for smaller orders the cost is shown at checkout before you pay, as described in Shipping & Returns. Import duties and taxes are prepaid by us for every country, so there is nothing to pay on delivery.
  • Payment is made through secure payment providers. We do not store your card details.
  • If a price on the site is clearly wrong because of a typing or technical error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.

Orders

Your order

After you place an order you will receive an email confirming it. We may cancel an order if a piece is no longer available, if the payment is not approved, or in the case of a clear error — and in that case you will receive a full refund.

Delivery

Shipping

We ship from Israel to most countries in the world. Dispatch times, delivery and what to do if a piece arrives damaged are all explained in Shipping & Returns.

Cancellation

Cancelling an order

We want you to love your piece. In addition to our 30-day return policy, customers in Israel have the following rights under the Consumer Protection Law, 1981, and the Consumer Protection (Cancellation of Transaction) Regulations, 2010:

  • You may cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the item or the document with the transaction details, whichever is later, by notifying us in writing, by email or by phone.
  • The item must be returned unused and in its original packaging. Return shipping is paid by the customer, unless the cancellation is because of a defect, a mismatch with the description or late delivery.
  • We will refund the amount paid within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice. A cancellation fee of up to 5% of the price or ₪100, whichever is lower, may be deducted — except when the cancellation is due to a defect, a mismatch, late delivery or another breach on our part.
  • People with disabilities, senior citizens (65 and over) and new immigrants may be entitled to an extended cancellation period, as set out in the law.
  • Pieces made especially for you — special orders and personalized pieces — cannot be cancelled once production has begun, as permitted by law.

Wherever our return policy is more generous than the law, the return policy applies.

Special orders

Special and institutional orders

The details of every special order — design, quantity, price, schedule and payment — are agreed with you in writing before we begin. Because these pieces are made for you, they cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged.

Designs

Designs and content

All designs, photographs, films and texts on this site belong to Amir Rom – Art in Clay. They may not be copied or used without our written permission.

Liability

Our responsibility

We do our best to keep the site accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be free of errors or interruptions. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law.

Law

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts in Israel have exclusive jurisdiction. Last updated: November 2, 2026.
